Negroni Bar History

The Negroni Florence Bar is located by the Arno River in a beautiful square where the atmosphere is welcoming, warm, colourful and lively. Florence: an international city, where the “art of meeting” is a speciality, open to everything modern life offers and proud of its great traditions.
Right here, many years back, when cafés were home to cultural and artistic debate, a gentleman was sitting at the counter before a quick-witted barman. That gentleman was Count Negroni, who asked for “a little something extra” in his usual “Americano”. A quick look at the shelves gave the barman, Fosco Scarselli, an idea, and the result was the “Negroni” cocktail, now the most famous in the world.
When setting up our bar, we decided to draw inspiration from this little story, from the genius of that alcoholic alchemy and what it stands for.
Our customers come here to chat and exchange opinions, listen to good music, meet people and invent new ideas and adventures.
The bar replaced the legendary bar of the movie "Amici Miei" and is located in a lovely district bustling with bars and meeting places. An unforgettable setting for love-affairs, courting and dates whose charm is further enhanced by the peculiar platform outside, the famous museums nearby, the view of the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio.
Inside, the design by the Architect Carbone recalls the charm and warm light of the 1960s salons, and is reinterpreted in a contemporary key, providing an ideal setting for art exhibitions.
The barman prepares international cocktails and long drinks, while the food is made by the chef, who offers typical Mediterranean-style dishes accompanied by great wines. Particularly worth mentioning is the ethnic aperitif Aperimundo: an eno-gastronomic masterpiece that makes the Negroni Florence Bar one of the most popular places with both locals and visitors to our wonderful city.
